Asylum Access

Dr. Barbara Harrell-Bond, founding director of the Refugee Studies Centre at the University of Oxford, has established refugee legal assistance programs in Uganda and Cairo. Dr. Harrell-Bond joined the American University in Cairo (AUC) as a Distinguished Visiting Professor in 2000, and continues to teach in the Forced Migration and Refugee Studies Program (FMRS) at AUC. She is also the Executive Director for Overseas Operation for AMERA-UK, a UK-based charitable organization supporting refugee legal aid in Africa and the Middle East.
