Rachel Reyes is pursuing her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law. She received her B.A. in Classical Civilizations and Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining Asylum Access, Rachel was a music journalist for Mesh Magazine and Editor-in-Chief for Balita, a newsletter for the Pilipino American Alliance. Rachel"s other notable writing experience includes receipt of a CALI award for legal writing and the Best Brief award for Moot Court. Rachel is a member of babae, an organization that serves to address the rights and welfare of multi-generational Filipino women in the United States. She is also the Co-Chair for USF"s Equal Justice Society, founding member and Board Member for USF"s Pilipino American Law Society, and Articles Editor for the Journal of Law and Social Challenges. For her work with Asylum Access, Rachel was awarded a Summer 2007 grant from USF"s Public Interest Law Foundation.
